Dow (Dow Corning) Silicone

Silane

Silane is a monomer and has both orgnanic functions that can react with organic materials and alkoxy functions that can react with inorganic materials. Therefore, silane acts as a coupling agent that bonds organic and inorganic matters. It can improve dispersity of inorganic filler, improve the adhesion of resin, and improve the strength of the resin. It also can be used as a raw material for organic composition to modify organics to be siliconized. In particular, by treating inorganic filler with silane, the properties of resin are enhanced in terms of dispersion, permeability, binding strength, etc. Silane also can help adhesion and water repellency in resin.
