Acrylic Resin

Elvacite¢ç acrylic resins are polymers or copolymers of methyl methacrylate or other acrylic monomers for use in solvent-applied lacquers, inks, adhesives and specialty coatings. Elvacite¢ç acrylic resins have a wide range of molecular weight, flexibility and functionality, and are particularly well suited for protective and decorative coatings for plastics, metals, concrete, wood and paper.

Product Polymer type Tg Mw Feature & Application
2009 Methyl methacrylate 87¡É 83,000
  • A more soluble, softer version of Elvacite¢ç 2010. Shows unusual chip resistance for a hard polymer.
2010 Methyl methacrylate 98¡É 84,000
  • High tensile strength & hardness. General-purpose grade for lacquer coatings such as barrier topcoatings for vinyl fabric.
2013 Methyl/n-butyl methacrylate copolymer 80¡É 34,000
  • Fast-dissolving, low-viscosity grade with quick solvent release for use in industrial lacquers, ainks, and oatings for plastics.
2016 Methyl/n-butyl methacrylate copolymer 59¡É 60,000
  • Fast-dissolving, low-viscosity general-purpose resin for lacquer and toner use.
2021 Methyl methacrylate 100¡É 119,000
  • A higher molecular weight version of Elvacite¢ç 2010 for better abrasion resistance in vinyl topcoats.
2043 Ethyl methacrylate 65¡É 50,000
  • Fast-dissolving, low-viscosity resin with alcohol solubility for flexographic inks. Most compatible grade.
2614 Methyl/n-butyl methacrylate copolymer 80¡É 52,000
  • Fast-dissolving grade, low-odor version of 2013 without sulfur-containing compounds.Fast-dissolving grade
